The work nobody should be doing

AI assistants made every employee faster. The next step is automation that takes the busywork off their plate for good.

AI has supercharged almost every employee.

Writing, research, analysis: work that took hours now takes minutes. People can do things they never could before.

But ask a simple question: what work has actually been automated?

Not made faster. Gone.

Handled, without anyone having to think about it.

For most companies, the honest answer is: almost nothing.

01

Assistants make you faster. Automation takes the work away.

An assistant waits for you. You open it, explain the context, copy the answer and paste it somewhere else. You are still doing the work, just quicker.

Automation does not wait. Something happens in the business, and the follow-up takes care of itself. You step in to review, not to do.

With an assistant, a person initiates and carries almost every step. With automation, a business event starts the work and a person only reviews the result.

02

Not people’s jobs. The chores inside them.

This is not about automating anyone’s job.

It is about the work nobody wants to do. The work that so obviously should be done by a computer.

What it looks like in practice

Here is one I use every day.

After a client meeting, the follow-up used to be on me: rereading my notes, typing tasks into the board and hoping I caught everything the client asked for.

Now the transcript is processed automatically. Tasks and requirements are pulled out and added to my project board.

By the time I open the board, it is already current.

Nothing gets forgotten, and I never wrote a thing down.

Why it matters

The point is not fewer people. It is people spending their time on what they were hired to do.

A business that runs smoothly

So look at your week. What are you doing that a computer obviously should be?

Map your first workflow.

Start with one high-value process. Sixb builds the system around it, so every next deployment starts with more already in place.
